Child support

I have been divorced for 7 years and now my ex wife is taking me back to court for more money. I'm lucky to have a job. I;ve not had any increase in pay nor bonus's. I see the 2 children every other week plus i take them if she has to work late. How can this happen? I'm not a deadbeat dad and love my children but she on the other hand, is not the best mother. She does not cook and she leaves the kids alone a lot. They are 13 and 15. Help!

If you have been divorced for seven years and the state has never reviewed the child support then you ave been lucky child suupport should be reviewed every two to four years depending on your state. Also a job with no raise in seven years this is not good, you might want to consider finding a new job. With this being said the law states that either parent can file a petition with the court to either ask for anincrease or a decrease. If the mother feels as though after seven years she needs an increase in child support she can file a petition asking the court for a increase, if she were to do this then the father could go to court and try toprove that he cannot pay anymore than what he is now paying, it will be up tot eh job to determine if the child support should be increased, some fathers work two jobs to pay child support. The father also by law has the right to file a petition asking the court to lower his child support, if he is making less money than at the time of the orignal child support order, if not the child support will remain the same again this is up to the judge.
