Divorce help?

I have a friend who is under going the process of treatment/surgery for breast cancer and is still in the process. Within that time her husband was once again fired from his job & has not worked through out her chemo process & surgery. I was the one to take her to her treatment & surgery. She has worked through the whole process and he has done nothing in caring for her or paying 1 bill. So know they are going through the process of bankruptcy.Since he lost his job they had no insurance so she used state insurance. Now that they are filing bankruptcy the credit cards will be cut off and they are in danger of losing their home. He is belittling and demeaning to her and the kids. She scared and doesn't want to do the wrong thing especially no that they are filing for bankruptcy. It seems like he is almost pushing her to file for divorce. Does it matter if she files or if he does? What about the bankruptcy? He won't let her use the computer at home so she asked me to do this for her today. My concern is that he will start asking her for money and she won't give it because she needs it for food, bills etc. Thus far she has covered the bankruptcy bills and he hasn't contribute anything. What are her rights? She doesn't know any unbiased family lawyers. Can she go anywhere for a free consult? I've looked for agencies that could help because of her breast cancer but all I find is research pages, which is great but not helpful to her. Thank you for any help yo
