Maine is an uncomplicated and quick state to get divorced in if it's uncontested. You'd need to live there long enough to establish residency before even filing though, then for as long as your spouse would care to drag it out.

My daughter got divorced in under 4 months with an out of state spouse who did not give her any trouble. No kids or property to haggle over, though.

Good luck.

You MUST establish residency in a state in order to declare divorce in that state, residency is determined at a state level, but usually established between 30 days to 6 months.
After which you would be able to file a motion for divorce from your currently residing state.

Be forwarned, your spouse could counter file in her state and cause complications, especially if there are children involved.

Obviously check with a lawyer, especially in the state you are attempting to get the divorce in for specific legal advice
Check with a laywer in both states

I would stay in maryland and deal with the divorce there, it may seem easier in the onset but your soon to be x may still make the divorce tough, my divorce should have been a quick and easy one but he made a mess of it.
