Need advice about relocating out of Alabama

So. I am a single mother. I have a three year old son. His father is not involved. His father does not call and has never sent our son a birthday gift or Christmas gift or card and I don't even know if he has changed his number on me again without telling me. I am not having any luck finding a job in Alabama. So I was going to see about relocating to a state that has better job market. Well, in the divorce papers, it says that I have to let his father know 30 days in advance. Can he tell me I cannot move out of Alabama with our son just because he doesn't like where I am moving to or because he doesn't know or hasn't met the people I may be around? If he says no, and I move anyway, can I get into trouble?

Also, what if I move in search for or due to a job and my family tries to threaten to have my son taken away because they think I am moving off for a guy? Wouldn't they have to have concrete evidence?

Bottom line. I am considering moving outside the state of Alabama if I can find me a job in a different state. Can my family have my son taken away and can his father still tell me I can't move even though his father is not involved and doesn't take part in my son's life except through paying child support? I hate feeling like I always have to be afraid to do something due to what my family may say,think,or do. I hate being afraid to move to a different state because of what his father may so or do.

Any advice would be of great help to me.
