He needs the police to schedule a time at their convenience to accompany him to your home to get his things. They will contact you before doing so. To facilitate this you can have his things neatly packed and ready to go and allow him to look around for other items of clothing and personal effects such as his razor. If you do pack his things do it neatly and with care to avoid any further altercations. You can also include anything that you consider to be his property such as jewlery or personal electronics.

Does it bother you to have his clothes in your house? Maybe he knows that. Maybe he's also keeping them there so he has an excuse to come see you one last time.

This question is very open-ended. There could be numerous reasons why. One reason that would be at the top of my list is: he doesn't want it to be over. Many people are afraid of change. Whatever happened to make this situation arise, he is feeling guilty and regretful, no doubt, unless he has no conscious. Things are happening fast and if he gets his clothes, there will be no reason to see you. There will be no chance left for him to talk to you. Everything will be completely over.
I’m glad you didn’t disclose the details or the divorce and restraining order because that gives us a biased point of view and any one detail that you would have left out could waver the answers. That being said, every answer posted could be wrong. The only person who knows is your husband, but isn’t it nice to believe that someone who you once loved dearly still loves and cares about you, and might possibly want to mend things, even though the restraining order and other factor, will never allow it.
At least you have those memories that you'll were so in love, nothing mattered. Everyone wished they could go back to those days. Sorry for your divorce.

My guess- because he'd rather have you sitting around wondering when he's going to come get his crap. Mine did this too- I eventually packed all his crap up for him in garbage bags and gave him a couple of bags each time he came to pick up the kids.

Or, could be he didn't want his clothes or anything he just wanted a judge to grant him that he could come over and start screaming at you (without police around) and since he has to bring them with him he can't get what he wants.

Or it could be that he's afraid of the police b/c he's doing something he shouldn't be doing and would rather just avoid them.

He has to come with the police because of his restraining order right? Maybe there is something in the house that he does not want the police to see. I obviously don't know the man but it could be that he just can't face it, is feeling depressed and is avoiding getting around to it.

Can you send him a message via a mutual friend to see when he intends to come along?
